CADBURY HILL UPDATE
In 2017 the Cadbury Hill Management Group had a halo of trees ring barked around the veteran oak in an attempt to give more light to this venerable tree. However a summer storm later in the year felled the oak, leaving a decaying stump. Sadly once ringed barked trees die away so over the course of this winter these trees will be felled. Whilst this will do nothing for the oak, it's too far gone, it will create a more open glade for woodland plants to flourish. The stump and fallen trunk have become a habitat for all types of insect and invertebrates thus improving the biodiversity of the woodland.
