Financial Regulations

The Parish Council Financial Regulations govern the financial management  of the Council and provide procedural guidance for members and officers. Financial Regulations must be observed in conjunction with the Councils Standing Orders and individual Financial Regulations in relation to contracts.

Precept and Budget

The Parish Council finances its activities from part of the Council Tax paid by households in the Parish. Congresbury Parish Council has set its precept (the amount of money it raises from Council Tax payers) for the current financial year (April 2024 to March 2025) at £157,020. The precept amounts to around £1.98 per week for a Band D household. The precept for 2025/26 has been set at £183,865 which will equate to £2.25 per week for a Band D household.

Community Infrastructure Levy Reports

Town and Parish Councils are required under Regulation 62A of the Community Infrastructure Regulations to report on the income and expenditure of Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funds, amounts spent and on what in each financial year.

Congresbury Parish Council publishes a list of all payments over £500.

Contracts

The Parish Council has two annual contracts which exceed £5000. These are for dog/litter waste bin emptying and grounds maintenance. The cost for 2025-2026  our 22 bins was £14,500 and grounds maintenance £10,000.
