Old School Rooms

General Information

Are you looking for a venue for a regular activity or a one-off event? The Old School Rooms may be just what you are looking for. Centrally situated in Station Road (the main A370) the building can be booked either as a whole venue or as individual rooms.

Please note, in the past the front door of the Old School Rooms has been difficult to open as it can become swollen in adverse weather. If this occurs please take care and report it to the Parish Office as soon as possible.

Rooms Available

Jubilee hall set up for a party

Jubilee Hall

(15m x 5m approx.)

This is the main hall and is used regularly for a wide range of activities including Fitness Classes, Dance, Art and Singing. The hall is also used for large meetings, village events and celebration events such as children's parties, weddings, parties and celebration of life. It can be configured flexibly as an open space or with the tables and chairs for seated activities.

Wi-Fi is available. Maximum numbers of occupancy is 130, 80 if the room is set up for seated only.

St Andrew's Room

(8.5m x 4.3m approx.)

This is one of the two smaller rooms and is usually set up for meetings of the Parish Council, however it is also used by craft groups and the library reading group.

The room can be used for meetings. For a committee type meeting the room can comfortably seat 12-15. Lecture type seating up to approximately 50 persons.

Wi-Fi is available. A fixed screen and projector for lectures are provided.

St Congar's Room

(6.6m x 5.5m approx.)

This is the other smaller room located between the Jubilee Hall and kitchen for events where more space is required. At present there is no direct access to the room.

This room can also be used as a breakout room from the main hall and is often used as a room to set up refreshments for parties and larger events.

The room can also be booked for craft events etc.

Kitchen

Is equipped with an oven, fridge and microwave and an assortment of crockery and cutlery. For large parties and catered events you will need to supply your own.

Hire Rates

Payment can be made by BACS, cash or cheque. At the moment the Parish Council cannot accept card payments.

As well as the rooms, you can also hire hall equipment: Hire of tables (24hrs.) £1.20 - Hire of chair (24hrs.) £0.30 Loan of tables/chairs to village organisations Free (N.B. A deposit of £100 will be charged on tables & chairs, refundable upon safe and prompt return.)
