BSIP investigation works Smallway Congresbury
Published: 23 October 2025
As part of North Somerset Council’s commitment to improving the district’s roads, we will soon be carrying out drainage and pavement investigation.
Works are anticipated to start on 27th October 2025 for an anticipated duration of 5 days. To carry out the works safely, we will need to close the junction of Kent Road (South) between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00.
We will also be closing Smallway (between Bristol Road and Kent Road) during the daytime on 30th and 31st October between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00.
We have advised residents that there will be workforce located within the road closure who will be happy to advise them on access arrangements. Residents in Kent Road and particularly Sheppy’s Mill will have access to their homes still. We have asked resident to please reduce vehicle movements (where possible) and be patient whilst the workforce makes access arrangements for them.
I have attached the Traffic Management Plans which shows the closure and diversion route.
With any investigation works of this nature, there will be certain activities that may create noise. We will try to end keep any disruption to a minimum during the works for the local residents. See attached maps for traffic signals and diversions here and here
